An exercise wheel helps your pets burn off energy, utilizing their natural instinct to run. Our rolly wheel has a closed running surface and back wall which provides security and protection. We recommend you check your wheel regularly for signs of nibbling and other damage, in order to avoid injury to your pet. To ensure the wheel keeps turning easily we recommend occasional treatment with cooking oil.

CHOOSING YOUR WHEEL

This size wheel is only suitable for small dwarf hamsters. When choosing an exercise wheel, you must make sure that your rodent’s back is straight as they’re running. Any bend in the back means the wheel is too small. Also, if choosing a wheel for a mouse, you must make sure that their tail isn’t overly bent over and isn’t scraping along the wheel as they run. 

It is very important to only use solid wheels. Mesh wheels can cause bumblefoot in small animals, as their toes get stuck whilst running. This is a very nasty injury which in some cases can lead to amputation. At Pettitt and Boo, we only sell safe wheels, such as the Savic Rolly.
